They have performed a bunch of work (Starter, Ignition, Fuel rail, Sea water pump, "Bravoitis" (thru-hull water intake), added a Flush kit, outdrive rebuild and maintenance). WebAfter talking with numerous shops and mechanics, I was steered to look up Bravoitis online. It looks like a manufacturer defect in the design of the cooling system of bravo engines. There is an aftermarket part available for around $30 and now mercruiser has a redesigned part $ 20 to fix it.

WebThere is an inherent design defect with all bravo drives. What happens with them is corrosion forms in the outer transom plate where the water intake hose is, and that corrosion pushes against the water hose and collapses it.
