WebI got Pearl Izumi Escape shorts, which at $37 on sale were a fantastic value. Definitely more comfortable on longer rides. Then I got dhb Classic Thermal bib tights - also pretty good. This year, I got a Giordana Silverline short. Probably the best chamois so far. These were also on sale for about $70. WebTry theblackbibs.com. I got their $40 bib shorts last year, and so far they are doing a decent job. Especially for the price. They might not be quite as good as a $80-100 pair of bib shorts from voler (my preferred brand) but the difference is minor. They are probably 85-90% as good. Which for less than half the price is well worth it imo.

WebFor commuting shorts are fine but my preference is bibs because they are more comfortable. They dont dig in at the hips or have belly overflow they keep everything in place. WebIf you do any kind of riding that finds you moving around a fair amount (xc, racing, endurance) go with the bibs. Bib shorts stay in place, non bib shorts can move around a fair amount.
